JUNE 26, 2020 UPDATE
REOPENING: PHASE 1
We are starting modified in-person Sunday morning services on Sunday, July 5th at 10am (one service). In an effort to have enough room for everyone who wants to come, we’re asking that you sign up ahead of time to save your seat. CLICK HERE below for our simple sign up and you’ll receive an email confirmation.
FOR THOSE ATTENDING
We ask you to use our main entrance (sliding glass doors) and bring your own mask if you can as they will be mandatory (available for those who don’t bring one).
WHAT WILL THE SERVICES LOOK LIKE?
We plan to worship creatively from our seats (without singing together), and take time to pray as well. One of our pastors will share a live sermon and you can expect our gathering to be between 30-45 minutes. *Please note that due to guidelines from the ministry of health, we are currently unable to sing or have kids programming or nursery. We will follow social distancing guidelines while our auditorium accommodates about 80-100 people.
*New Hope Online will be available on Sunday mornings as usual.
JUNE 10, 2020 UPDATE
Like you, we have heard about the Ontario government’s announcement about churches being able to open at 30% capacity. We want you to know that we are not ready to open this weekend but are planning towards a phased-in approach to reopening.
Your safety is our primary concern.
The involvement of children and our ability to sing together in worship are also two factors that are helping to shape our approach. We will be sending out a brief survey later this week to help us know how we can best serve you in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your patience as we work towards meeting together again. We will continue to update you as the plan unfolds.
MARCH 15, 2020 UPDATE
All of us are aware of the growing global concerns around the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We would like to provide our New Hope family with an update on our response to date and our commitment to you moving forward. The health, safety, and well-being of our entire church family is of great importance to us. We continue to monitor for developments very closely and strive to exceed the expectations established by Canada Health Services.
For many, the spread of this virus has caused fear and anxiety. Scripture is clear that God has given us a spirit of love, not fear. Our prayer is that we would sense peace in the midst of these circumstances. This does not mean we should be careless or reactionary; rather, may we work together to serve our church and community in a way that demonstrates trust in our God.
We will be closing the church office through the week as well as suspending weekend services until further notice to ensure alignment with Ontario health guidelines and requirements for large gatherings. All other programs and events are cancelled until further notice (Couples Course, Cleansing Stream, One to One, Divorce Care, Volleyball, Kids Night Out, Jr. High, Sr. High, and Young Adults).
We would encourage you to connect with our church community online. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Vimeo for the latest updates and content. Rather than streaming just Sunday services, we will be bringing worship and teaching to you throughout the week to help us all stay connected.
As things are continually shifting, we will keep you posted on what we discern as the wisest steps moving forward in light of our ongoing Chief Health Officer recommendations. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
